ABMI Bolivia, South America

Missionaries to La Paz, Bolivia, South America

Here is a special Message from the Fannings

Family.JPG"Steven, Darlene, Jacob, Breanna and Levi, moved to Bolivia, South America in March of 2002 .  We worked in the Jungle area of Santa Cruz for two years.  There Missionary Mike Overton asked us to help a Church that was about to close down with only two families in it. We visited, had youth meetings, tent revivals and saw many, many saved.  After two years the church had many faithful coming.  Then the Lord told us it was time to move to “our place”   The High Andes Mountains of La Paz.  La Paz is the highest capital city in the world with an altitude of 12,000ft and is known as the missionary graveyard, because of the difficult climate and hostile people.   La Paz is home to the Ayamara Indians, the predominant Indian tribe of Bolivia.  Here we have started two works.  Iglesia Bautista de Villa Fatima which is located in a Northern Zone of the city of La Paz. church.JPG

We have youth meetings, kids club, visitation and regular church services, on Wed. and Sundays. On Thursdays we a men’s Bible study group. Darlene teaches Sunday school and has special things for the ladies of the church.  She also works and plans activities for the youth.  We have seen many saved and baptized.  Our second work is in a poor Ayamara village, I preach there and also teach the adults how to read and write in Spanish.  We are working on the water lines to get water into this village with the help of churches from the states.  This village is very closed to Americans but after 17 months we saw our first converts. They have given us permission to set up our tent and have a meeting.

We continue to work with the church in Santa Cruz. The Lord has allowed us to help in other Missionary works by holding revivals. We have helped preach revivals for missionaries Javier Lopez, Rudy Waff and Kenneth Ellzey.

With the example our Pastor has set for us the Lord has allowed us to feed, clothe and help with medical and living expenses of many Bolivian families.  All of this is possible because of the faithful support from our mission hearted churches in the States."

The ministries of the Fannings include Church Planting, Tent Evangelism, Training Nationals, Bible Ministry, Teaching in Public Schools, and Youth Camps.
