ABMI ministers to the nutritional needs of both the local community and the worldwide community through our Food Program.

In this modern day, the need for nutritional assistance is growing daily. Here at ABMI we believe it is the job of the local church to step in and work to provide that need. We have the resources, thanks to support from dozens of churches, to minister to those needs.

In our Manna Food Program, we work with the Manna Food Bank to purchase goods at a reduced rate for the re-distribution in the community. In this aspect of the Food Program the goods must remain in the Western North Carolina community which is a stipulation placed on the goods by Manna Food Bank. Therefore, once a month, we have our Food Distribution. Many households in our community share in the Food Bank Program.

Through our USDA program as well as our State assistance program we can assist families who are in need of temporary food assistance when jobs are lost or medical needs arise. These programs require no service charge for their use.

The Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program TEFAP is a federally funded commodities program that is used as needed.

The State Nutritional Assistance Program SNAP is a state funded box of food containing meat, dry goods, and other food products used to sustain a household for several days in the time of need. At ABMI we have a constant flow of SNAP clients who come to find help. This is such a great opportunity to reach families in need as Bible principles always lead us to do.

We also store and distribute surplus food that we purchase from grocery store chains and outlets to be used for the needy and for our missionary programs as well. In this arm of the ministry, missionaries, traveling evangelists, and other full time ministries benefit daily from items found in our surplus program from juices to diapers to personal care products.

All of our food programs are based out of ourMission Distribution Center.
