Philippine Disaster Relief Effort
Thank you for helping us reach the island of Malapascua, Philippines after one of the largest hurricanes known to man, Hurricane Haiyan. We encourage you to continue helping in our efforts to reach this island that has seemingly been forgotten by everyone else.
Missionary Travis Lewis is helping us send this relief in the absence of Missionary Timothy Owen who has a work on the island. Below, you can read find out a little about what he is doing.

For those of you asking how you can help after the Super Typhoon hit the Philippines.....We are focusing our resources to help the people of Malapascua Island. We have a missionary Pastor from our church in Malapascua pastoring the Malapascua Missionary Baptist Church. This area is not being reported by the media...but the eye of the storm passed right over this Island. When our guys landed there on Monday, the people thought that we were the news. This island is devastated and many of the church people lost their homes. 100% of the money sent will go to send disaster relief and help these people rebuild their lives. The first load of relief went out on Monday....the next is scheduled for Thursday...and then again on Friday.

Each of the church families received 10 kilos of rice and enough food for one week....until our next trip on Thursday. Those that needed tarps were given tarps. Next week, we will take more tarp so that they at least have some shelter.

The first relief goods went out on Monday....some were taken out Thursday...the first big load is going out in the morning. The jeep is full of needed supplies for the people of Malapascua. Thanks to the Timothy Owens family and all their hard work in raising the $3,000 for this load. He is the missionary who started the church in Malapascua. Pray for our safety as we travel tomorrow! More people have promised help and a trip is planned for next week as well.

Our college guys went to Malapascua Island with all the relief good they could carry and rode a bus...then a boat to the island. They will help the church people putting up tarps and distributing food. We sent a nurse from our church to the island as well today to help with medical needs. The big jeep load goes out in the morning. Pray for safety!
